Indiana Insider: Overall 2018 Rankings, Indiana Analysis

By Phil Wade
Indiana Executive Director

The updated PBR overall rankings for the 2018 class were recently released.  It is important to note that the PBR overall rankings only include the states that we intimately know from our scouting staff. The updated Top 400 Class of 2018 rankings is comprised of our current 31-state coverage area, which now includes recently added North Carolina.

The overall rankings in each class continues to expand, making it more and more difficult for prospects to hold their spot, however, the Hoosier State continues to hold its own with 23 players in the Top 400; including three in the top 25, eight in the top 75 and nine in the top 100.

Top 25

13. Indiana’s top ranked 2018 is Mississippi State recruit Hayden Jones, a 6-foot, 185 pound left-handed hitting catcher from Fort Wayne Carroll HS.  At the Future Games in early August Jones consistently fired sub 1.9 pop times with easy carry (83 mph) to second base.  Offensively, he showcased a loose, athletic swing with pop and ran a 7.10 60.
