TENNESSEE 2027's: TOP-10

Banks Addison SS / C / Evangelical Christian School, TN / 2027

Headlining the 2027 class comes in with a slim build that has a good base in the lower half. Currently listed at 6 foot and 160 pounds that projects to add athleticism and strength. Primary SS that has clean actions and arm strength across the diamond. Left-handed bat with a wide base and smooth stroke that should be able to lift as he gains weight. Has present feel for working all parts of the field with barrel awareness and control. Overall offers a lot of projection and has a lot of tools to work with.

Blake Lundy C / 3B / BAYLOR SCHOOL, TN / 2027

Right behind at #2 is a prospect with just a physical imposing frame from the Chattanooga area that will be attending powerhouse Baylor for his prep years. Currently standing 6 foot 3 and 195 pounds with makeup to dream of behind the dish. A really good mover with athleticism that will continue to project out. Arm strength is already present with Lundy from a quick release and short arm action. Right-handed bat from a wide base with an easy stride that offers bat speed and strength through his full swing.

William Brick C / 3B / Christian Brothers , TN / 2027

Another top-5 player from the Memphis area that will be playing his first high school season at historical Memphis powerhouse Christian Brothers. Listed at 6 foot 1 and 170 pounds that has present muscle definition that will continue to fill out. Extremely quick transfer with tons of upside with the arm. Has a lot of body control at a young age that screams more athletic ability to come. Gamer kid all around that stacks up with just about anyone in the country. Right-handed hitter that turns the barrel over well and has serious pop to pull side. Projects to lift in the future with a consistent doubles approach at the plate.

Jayden Pearl OF / SS / Battle Ground Academy, TN / 2027

You won’t find as many prospects with the current tools that Pearl has at his disposal at this stage in his development. Coming in at the #4 spot in our initial ‘27 Prep Baseball rankings is just a physically athletic freak that is a serious follow on the baseball circuit. Five foot 11 and 195 pounds that has plenty of developed muscle mass, especially in the lower half. Is somewhat still raw defensively but the actions speak loud and will be a rangy centerfielder for years to come. Right-handed hitter that has off the charts exit velocities with quick and twitchy hips that projects for even more refinement as he matures.

From 10-29-2023: “OF prospect with just a load of tools to work with currently. The 5 foot 11 and 195 pound prospect has a physically mature frame with a rare blend of strength and speed that should translate to even more ability in the future. Clocking his sixty at 6.86 with a low 80’s mph arm from both the infield and outfield, which really may be the only thing that is above average currently. Traits are really just off the charts with Pearl and is currently a top 5 player in his class. Rangy center fielder upside with real juice as he develops and will have power 5 schools calling for his signature. Displayed advanced potential with the bat with an insane 101 mph exit velocity to go along with an 88 mph average. Rotates his hips effortlessly, with easy and controlled bat speed. Will start immediately in center-field as a freshman this upcoming season for BGA.”

Stephen Bobo OF / LHP / Shelbyville Central, TN / 2027

Rounding out our top 5 is an athletic speedster that carries a makeup that is much more than just that. Jumped on our radar after attending our summer Prep Baseball Tennessee Top Prospect Games. Lean and compact at 5 foot 9 and 160 pounds, Bobo offers serious two-way projection and will be a big contributor this upcoming spring season at Shelbyville Central where he will lock down the center-field position, while manning large amounts of innings from the left side on the mound. 6.8 runner with a confident glove defensively, while also showing impressive arm strength up to 89 mph from the outfield. Left-handed hitter with whippy bat speed that carries lag through the zone. Repeatable delivery on the mound with controlled body mechanics that offers easy velo up to 84 mph with tight spin and feel for his off-speed. High impact kid that will be attending our upcoming Preseason All-State event where we will be getting another look at his progression from the summer.

Riley Martin RHP / OF / Smith County, TN / 2027

#1 ranked arm in the rollout of our ‘27 class Tennessee Tennessee rankings offers a long and physical frame at 6 foot 2 and 175 pounds with well developed thighs and a backside that offers a lot of force output. It isn’t just the heavy fastball in the upper 80’s, but it is also the feel for spinning his pitches with late supination with an average spin rate in the 2200 rpm range on the fastball. Ball jumps out of his hand effortlessly with plenty in the tank coming his way as he will be a big contributor on the mound for Smith County.

From 6-13-2023: “Rising Freshman that is advanced beyond his years in terms of arm strength, command and presence. Really quick arm action that stays tight to his body and works in sync with his hip turn/ leg drive. The thing that stands out about Martin, is not just that he was able to throw 90 mph from the outfield, but it's with how smooth his actions are. His body is just calm the whole way with incredible arm speed that fires aggressively late. On the mound, he attacked hitters right away with a fastball in the 86-88 mph range, while leading the entire group touching 89 mph with the fastball. Also, showcased a breaking ball at 80-83, that at times flashed late movement. Stud all around and has a chance to turn into a low-mid 90’s arm by the time he graduates high school.”

Will Britt RHP / C / Christian Brothers, TN / 2027

Continuing with a loaded catchers class, Britt comes in #3 currently at the position in the state and will be platooning with another top-10 player in this class at Christian Brothers high school, while showing true two-way potential with the arm. The 5-foot-10 and 170-pound prospect already offers athleticism with 7.1 sixty while flashing multiple upper 80 mph exit velos from the right side. Repeatable swing mechanics with quiet hands that project for more as he continues to add size to his frame. Up to 83 mph from the mound from a high ¾ arm slot with quickness and whip to it.

From 6-23-2023: “Rising freshman catcher that doesn’t jump off the board with insane measurables but shows his natural athletic playing ability with a gamer edge to him. Consistently hit during the game portion of the event off some really good arms and showed an advanced feel and presence for the game and in his ability. As he gains strength and size, he will be on many coaches' radar.”

Jack VanOrman 1B / 3B / Christ Presbyterian Academy, TN / 2027

Relatively unknown prospect coming into the fall that stood out on multiple fronts that left a lasting impression and is someone college coaches will put a lot stock into as he matures and develops into the high upside that he has. May have the highest upside in our initial release of the ‘27 class rankings at 6 foot 3 and 175 pounds. RHP and middle infield prospect that moves extremely well for being so long and shows a lot of future potential based on his athletic ability. There is plenty to like with VanOrman and he has an ideal frame to dream on. Mid 80’s arm that should compete for innings right away on a loaded CPA team looking to get back to the state championship.

From 10-26-2023: “2027 prospect that was virtually unknown to us before the event. Stood out in terms of physicality, ability, maturity and upside. Caught my attention early as he went through his infield portion of the event, as someone that young and that long shouldn’t have that good of feet around the infield with the ability to bend as well as he did. Listed at 6 foot 3 and 175 pounds, he has an ideal baseball frame with loads of athletic ability and potential. Clocked just north of a flat 7 second sixty right at 7.04, with sub-7 currently already present. Made plays to both sides of his body look natural and effortless at Shortstop, while showing easy receiving skills that finished with a really whippy arm. At the plate, showed rotational ability with quality barrel control that popped multiple low 90’s mph exit velocity with a consistent line drive approach up the middle and to left-center gap. Showed maybe his highest upside on the mound where he creates incredible layback and hip separation with plenty of more velocity coming his way. Sat 83-84 mph with 18 inches on average of carry on the FB with a CB and SL that currently offer more of a blended shape with 15 inches of horizontal movement but offers wipeout potential once he learns to spin it more efficiently. A freshman that should compete for starting time on varsity at CPA and has all the tools to do well from the jump. Offers extremely high upside and true draft potential, just depending on where he develops more over his high school career.”

Carter Hullett C / RHP / Ensworth, TN / 2027

Physical build with present strength and muscle mass at 5 foot 9 and 185 pounds. The Ensworth product offers a compact frame that projects for more as he matures. Another catcher in the top-10 initial rankings that carries a lot of upside with his current ability. Left-handed hitter with an even base that incorporates a slight leg lift to get into his launch position. Shows power to the pull side with balanced rotation of his hips and allowing his upper half to follow seamlessly. Will be one player to surely follow as he starts his prep career.

Seth Hooks OF / LHP / Knights Academy, TN / 2027

Former JFG participant this summer where he flashed just a ton of ability from the left side, both on the mound and in the box. The 5 foot 11 and 175 pound prospect has enormous legs and calves that scream power. Upper half will surely follow as he matures and offers projection as a true two-way prospect. Lights out on the mound where he already has an advanced feel for the strike-zone with multiple pitches. Low 80’s arm that will continue to climb in velocity with repeatable mechanics. Extremely efficient attacking the zone and will live ahead in the count. Hit multiple home-runs during JFG’s where he has a balanced base that coordinates with an easy leg lift before getting into his swing. True gamer type of kid that will produce against anyone in the national ‘27 class rankings and rounds out our ‘27 top-10 rankings.
