Fall Rewind: The PBR Cup

Ty Peeples, OF, 2025, Franklin County
PBR Cup was the opening act of Peeples’ electric Fall run that has firmly positioned the Georgia commit into the national spotlight and as well as one of the best outfielders in the 2025 class. Going 9-for-14 with 6 extra-base hits is one thing, but doing it without striking out and having 70% of your batted balls go for 95+ exit velocities, showed a different level of dominance. Peeples has a truly advanced feel for the barrel with whip and excellent incorporation of his lower half. Has ability to stay balanced and on-plane throughout the entire strike zone while maintaining ability to create loud contact constantly. It’s a pure hit tool that screams plus potential with the current trajectory he’s on.

Asher Sabom, RHP, 2024, North Cobb Christian
One of the fastest risers this Fall was Asher Sabom, and the PBR Cup was a huge reason for that. The Georgia commit would make two appearances, fanning 15 over 8 scoreless innings pitched without allowing a hit. Long and lean at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, Sabom is a high-level athlete who works out of an old-school, over the head windup into a lower three-quarters arm slot that creates some funk. Fastball is heavy at 88-92 with plenty of arm-side run and commands the bottom of the zone well. Short, tight slider at 78-82 is the strength of the pitch mix with ability to land anywhere in the zone in any count. Some present feel for a changeup in the low-80s that gets some glove-side tumble. Avoids barrels and hard contact with the entire mix. A primary shortstop up until late this past spring, Sabom is making strides at a rapid pace and could just be scratching the surface of his potential on the mound.

Brendan Fritch, 3B, 2025, Broomfield (CO)
Easily one of the most potent bats of the week, and still uncommitted, Fritch went 9-for-19 with 2 HR and 4 2B, as well as knocking in 10 runs and scoring 8 himself. Wide base at the plate with an ultra-physical lower half, Fritch showcases quiet, loose hands with above-average bat speed and advanced feel for both the barrel and strike zone. Great ability to drive the ball to all-fields, with substantial power potential to the pull-side. Strong profile behind the plate with excellent receiving and good flexibility in the crouch.

Branson Hogan, RHP, Chelsea, 2026 (AL)
6-foot-1 180-pounds. Strong, athletic frame with a lively arm. Strong stature on the mound with a smooth and effortless delivery. Fastball played up to 87 with good life down in the zone. This is a young arm that will surely be creeping up to 90 within the next year.
