Preseason All-State: Data Dive - Hitters

Prep Baseball Georgia
Staff

Flowery Branch, GA - The Prep Baseball Georgia Staff traveled to Infinite Vision Sports Academy for the Preseason All-State event. This event was an opportunity to see some of the top talent from across the state. We saw players from 2025-2027 grads. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 30 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw short bullpens with Trackman. There here were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Sunday.

Earlier in the week, we broke down the stat leaders from the more traditional categories in our statistical analysis. Today, we will take an even closer look at the position players in attendance with the help of our tech partners, broken down by the categories and leaderboards below.

Traditionally, the 60-yard dash has been the in-event standard to help measure a player's speed tool. While the measurement still has its utility, the 10-yard, and 30-yard splits have started to become more and more applicable in determining the player's burst and reaction time in-game, whether that's in the outfield or on the basepaths.

Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and Powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
