Ontario Scout Blog: Top Uncommitted 2025's

Cam Black-Araujo
Assistant Director, Prep Baseball Canada

With the calendar ready to hit February in just hours, the baseball season continues to draw closer and closer as we're just over a month out from team's heading to their respective Spring Training's. This upcoming year is a big one for the 2025 class as it's the first full summer where they're allowed to communicate with college coaches. Ontario has had several roll of the board following the August 1st opening, but still has a boatload intriguing talent towards the top of rankings who are still uncommitted.

Below, we take a look at some of those names and break each down with scouting notes and video.

ONTARIO'S TOP UNCOMMITTED 2025'S

Quinn Carson OF / St. Ignatius of Loyola CSS, ON / 2025

Quinn Carson has propelled himself to the top of the 2025 rankings following a strong 2023 year that saw him shine at the Future Games over the summer. 6-foot-3, 195-pound outfielder blasted several big homeruns over the course of the year including at the Future Games, Canada Cup and once again in his first appearance with the Canadian Junior National Team. Was up to the test this past fall in his first appearance against pro arms, going 5-for-17 with a pair of extra-base hits. Currently Ontario’s top-ranked uncommitted 2025 and should already be on the radar of four-year schools.

Logan Forgie LHP / West Carleton, ON / 2025

2025/2026 LHP Logan Forgie has established himself as one of the top arms in Ontario’s 2025 Class just over one year after attending his first event in the Fall of 2022. Strong, burly frame at 6-foot-1, 215-pounds and consistently sits in the mid-80s with the fastball. Works with a pair of offspeed pitches that he’s shown feel for, a curveball at 69-70 and a changeup with late, downward look at 75-77. Currently the top uncommitted arm in Ontario’s 2025 class.

Matthew Kolodziej SS / 3B / White Oaks , ON / 2025

2025/2026 SS Matthew Kolodziej has propelled himself towards the top of Ontario’s list of 2025 middle infielders. It’s the athletic look and projection at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds that allow you to dream on the swing from the left-side. It will be interesting to see if there’s some added strength and size as he takes the field in 2024. Kolodziej has a chance to really breakout this next year and has already taken the field with top players across the province/country at several events.

Charlie Firth RHP / St Martin, ON / 2025

2025/2026 RHP Charlie Firth first caught our attention as a slick middle infielder but has since transitioned and taken off on the mound. The 6-foot, 190-pound right-hander has seen an uptick in velocity as he was touching upper-80s in a recent bullpen. There’s no doubt Firth has some of the better stuff in Ontario’s 2026 class and our staff is interested to get out and see how he’s able to hone that in game action. An arm who should be on the follow-list for four-year programs as they head out this summer, as he’s eligible in the 2025 or 2026 class.
