PBR OK hosted the third annual Summer Underclass Prospect Games at Oklahoma State University. Nearly 80 players showcased their skill in front of the PBR OK staff and the entire staff from Oklahoma State.

Today, we take a look at the eight third basemen from the event.

Preston Berg RHP / 3B / Bartlesville, OK / 2022

Displayed a physical 6-foot, 190-pound frame with advanced strength and feel for his body. The right-handed hitter begins in a square stance with knees pointed inward, utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. A quick lower half whips a flat barrel path through the zone generating 81 mph bat-exit velocities . Showcased easy strength, delivering hard line drives to the middle of the field with regularity.  Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. The middle infielder demonstrated solid footwork, arriving to the ball consistently on time. A strong lower half and low center of gravity allowed for range to both sides. Registered accurate 76 mph throws out of a quick, ¾ arm-slot. 

Christian Dong 3B / RHP / Jones, OK / 2022

Featured a large, filled-out 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame with a stocky build. The right-handed hitter begins in a narrow, slightly-open stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. High hands create some stretch upon load, coming through a flat barrel path upon contact. Used a strong lower-half to generate a 77 mph bat-exit velocity . Recorded an 8.61 60-yard dash. The primary third baseman displayed developing footwork while arriving to the ball on time. Played with an adequately low center of gravity coupled with a soft glove hand and smooth transfers. Registered accurate 72 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a long, high ¾ arm-slot. 

Kaemyn Franklin 3B / RHP / Broken Arrow , OK / 2024

Featured a long and lean 5-foot-9, 145-pound frame with room to add on as he matures. The right-handed hitter starts with a tall, open setup utilizing a leg-hang to initiate his swing. Present sink coupled with some stretch upon load allowed for some barrel whip through a slightly uphill barrel path. Registered a 68 mph bat-exit velocity  and ran an 8.50 60-yard dash. The primary third baseman showcased adequate footwork with feel for a soft glove hand. Took advantageous routes to the baseball setting up momentum towards the target with regularity. Recorded accurate 67 mph throws from his position out of a high ¾ arm-slot.

Nicholas Garcia 3B / RHP / Edmond North, OK / 2023

Demonstrated feel for a long and lean 6-foot, 165-pound frame with current strength and easy projectability. The right-handed hitter begins in a wide, even setup with the front side shading slightly inward towards the plate. A repeatable leg-lift stride is used to initiate a slightly uphill barrel through the zone generating consistent 80 mph bat-exit velocities. A short swing that currently generates some bat speed through the hitting zone will only improve with increased stretch. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. The primary third baseman showcased average footwork utilizing long actions during defensive evaluations. A soft glove hand and adequate transfers allowed for accurate 76 mph throws out of a long and quick, high ¾ arm-slot. 

Connor Goodson 3B / RHP / Norman, OK / 2022

The primary third baseman featured a projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pound frame with some strength and advanced athleticism. The right-handed hitter begins in an even, slightly open stance using a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Demonstrated a fluid, repeatable swing with advanced feel for the barrel. Generated easy backspin to both gaps utilizing a slightly uphill barrel path upon contact, recording an 82 mph bat-exit velocity .  Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. A quick first step and low center of gravity allowed for advanced range to both sides coupled with solid footwork arriving to the ball consistently on time. Registered an accurate 81 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot. 

Brooks Miller 3B / RHP / Pryor , OK / 2021

Demonstrated advanced feel of an athletic 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with flexibility and room to add on. The right-handed hitter starts in an even, balanced stance utilizing some twitch in the load coupled with a quick leg-kick to initiate his swing. Generated a slightly uphill barrel path creating consistent 90 mph bat-exit velocity with backspin to the pull-side gap. Showed feel for the barrel, being on time to the hitting zone with regularity . Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. The third baseman featured a low center of gravity with advanced footwork allowing for range to both sides. A soft glove hand pushed and pulled when necessary allowing for easy transfers and an accurate 79 mph arm-strength out of a repeatable, high ¾ arm-slot. 

Jacob Morrow RHP / 3B / Owasso, OK / 2022

Demonstrated feel of a large 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with current strength and projectability. The right-handed hitter starts in an even stance with weight shaded slightly towards the backside. A controlled toe-tap coupled with deep sink into a strong lower half allowed for advanced barrel whip through a slightly uphill bat path. Consistently hit behind the baseball into a stiff front side generating easy 85 mph backspin to the deep pull-side gap. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. The third baseman featured long actions during defensive evaluations with feet that arrived on time to the baseball. Displayed a soft glove hand with average range to both sides. Recorded accurate 72 mph throws out of a low-effort, high ¾ arm-slot.  

Kaden Slater 3B / RHP / Alva, OK / 2022

Showcased feel for a large 6-foot, 180-pound frame with advanced strength for his age. The left-handed hitter begins with an even setup with weight slightly shaded towards the backside. A quick lift-and-replace stride was used to initiate a slightly uphill barrel with whip through the zone. Present stretch coupled with some sink into a strong lower half allowed for consistent backspin to the pull-side and a barrel that increased speed registering an 82 mph bat-exit velocity. Recorded an 8.08 60-yard dash. The primary third baseman displayed average footwork during defensive evaluations while arriving to the baseball consistently on time. Feel for a soft glove hand with smooth transfers allowed for accurate 73 mph throws out of a short, high ¾ arm-slot.
