With 2023 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2024. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2024 Spring Team Preview: Perry Pirates

Team Name: Perry Pirates

2023 Tourney Finish: District Semifinals loss
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 9/6

Coach Outlook: "We have an experienced ball club that plays with a lot of energy and great chemistry. We plan to compete in every game."

  • 2025 - C/P- Owen McKoon 6'2" 210 R/R - a team leader and next level player. BA .532, 41 hits, 5 2B, 4 3B, 3 HR, 39 RBI, 17 SB...Pitching - 7-0 ERA - .525, 41-K, 12-BB
  • 2024 - 1B/P Sam Tharp 6'0", 180, R/R, another team leader, his glove at first base makes the whole infield better. A true 5 tool player. .329 BA, 6-2B, 2-3B, 37 Runs, 16-SB
  • 2024 - Utility/P - Jason Pentek- 5'9", 175, R/R, .315 - BA, 2 - 2B, 1 - 3B, 25 - RBIs...2.62 ERA, 4-3 Four year letterman with the experience it takes to win. A bulldog mentality both on the mound and at the plate.
  • 2025 - Inf/P - Kyle Rhineberger - 5'7", 145, R/R, Catalyst at the top of the lineup with quickness and high-end speed. Great bat-to-ball skills, always a tough at bat. .322 - Batting average, 21 RBI, 20 SB...14.1 IP, 1.465 ERA
