Hudson Graham
Georgia Scouting Director

The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

Our 2024 preseason coverage continues today.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Cedartown had a strong season last year at 22-9. They were without their ace, Jay O'Neal last season, and having him back this season will be huge after losing a couple key contributors from last year. They will have the starters to win games with lefty junior Samuel Formby and senior, Xavier Holiday following O'Neal. Formby is an arm that will fill up the zone, and give the offense a chance every time he steps on the mound. Sophomore Ace Allen will have big shoes to fill at shortstop, but gained valuable experience playing 3rd next to Dylan Cupp last season as a freshman. He has a lot of same attributes as Cupp, and we could see hom have a break out year after a strong summer. Junior, Konnor Peak will be an arm to keep an eye on coming out of the pen for the bulldogs. He looked strong this fall, and has made some big strides since last season. Senior Cole Dingler, Tony Ware, and Xavier Holiday will be leaders on offense. Gavin Allred is a sophomore who has some tools that would be a huge asset if he can be consistent in the line up. If the Bulldog offense can get going they have the arms to get them back to the state playoffs in 2024.
