On Saturday, February 3rd & 4th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the Preseason All-State Games at Cactus Shadows High School in, Cave Creek AZ. The Preseason All-State Games is an invite only event held for prospects in the 2024-2025 classes in the state of Arizona. Giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field. 

Today, we’ll start by giving you the Top Performers from the Preseason All-State Games, which we like to call Quick Hits. Cooper Clouser C / 3B / Corona del Sol, AZ / 2025

Cooper Clouser, a junior from Corona Del Sol High School in 2025, emerged as one of the standout performers at this weekends event, leaving an indelible mark with his exceptional skills on both sides of the ball. During the defensive evaluation, Clouser's ability behind the plate was nothing short of impressive, showcasing a swift and seamless transfer combined with accuracy in his throws, boasting an impressive pop time ranging from 1.87 to 2.0. However, his ability extends beyond defense, as Clouser exhibited a college-ready hit tool. His swing, characterized by a flat and effortless motion through the zone, demonstrated advanced contact skills, allowing him to manipulate the barrel effectively to different parts of the strike zone. Clouser is undeniably a prospect to watch, for the Arizona staff and will likely see exciting things to come this spring season. 

 

 

Braden Watson C / OF / Liberty, AZ / 2025

Braden Watson, a formidable prospect graduating in 2025 from Liberty High School, asserted his physical dominance across the field during the weekends event, leaving an indelible mark with his impressive performance in both the workout sessions and game play. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 215 pounds, Watson showcased his strength and athleticism. Behind the plate, his powerful arm registered an impressive 77 mph, complemented by a swift pop time ranging from 1.86 to 1.94. The true highlight, however, was Watson's prowess at the plate, where he demonstrated exceptional batting skills. Going 5-6 on the day, Watson's hits included a double off the left-center field wall and another off the right-center field wall, showcasing his ability to generate power to all fields. Throughout the entire day, Watson exuded confidence and a commanding presence, establishing himself as a notable prospect to watch in the Arizona baseball scene. Additionally, Watson is committed to the University of Hawaii, adding to the anticipation of his future endeavors in collegiate baseball.

 

 

Jaden Leon SS / 2B / Tucson, AZ / 2024

Jaden Leon, a standout prospect graduating in 2024 from Tucson High School, made a significant impact during the All State games, showcasing his prowess as a 5-foot-11, 185-pound middle infielder. Leon had an impressive weekend, particularly excelling in the batting practice segment where he marked a personal best with an exit velocity of 100.2 mph, consistently sending shots over the left field fence. This impressive display translated seamlessly into game play, where Leon's powerful and dynamic swings resulted in multiple hits, including a majestic home run over the left-center field wall. Leon is currently uncommitted, adding an extra layer of anticipation to his future in the baseball realm. His consistent performance and high potential have solidified him as a top prospect closely monitored by the Arizona staff.

 

 

Cody Stoller RHP / SS / Sandra Day O'Connor, AZ / 2025

Cody Stoller, a promising prospect from Sandra Day O'Connor High School set to graduate in 2025, demonstrated impressive pitching prowess during the event. Stoller, a right-handed pitcher, showcased a polished and effective arm, consistently delivering fastballs that sat between 84-86 mph and occasionally touching 88 mph. What made Stoller stand out was not only his velocity but also his command of a diverse 3-pitch mix. He displayed quality control with his fastball. As an uncommitted talent, Stoller is poised to be a key watchlist player this spring, projecting to be a formidable force on the mound for the Sandra Day O'Connor Eagles.

 

 

Caleb Sweeney LHP / OF / Valley Christian, AZ / 2025

Caleb Sweeney, a left-handed pitcher from Valley Christian High School set to graduate in 2025, delivered an outstanding performance, earning the top velocity of the day. Sweeney showcased an impressive fastball that consistently sat between 86-89 mph and touched 90 mph, establishing him as a dominant force on the mound. His four-pitch repertoire included a firm slider, registering at 78-80 mph, characterized by a tight spin of 2200. Sweeney's ability to generate substantial velocity and mix in effective secondary pitches makes him a notable prospect to watch in the upcoming seasons, carrying the potential to make a significant impact for Valley Christian High School.

 

 

Adin Oeltjen OF / LHP / Cactus Shadows, AZ / 2024

Adin Oeltjen, a 2024 graduate from Cactus Shadows High School, showcased his versatility and impact potential on both sides of the field. In a standout offensive performance, Oeltjen delivered a multi-hit game that featured an impressive double and triple, including a well-placed shot down the right-field line and a deep fly ball off the right-center field wall. His offensive prowess was complemented by a strong showing on the mound, where he consistently sat 87-88 mph, reaching up to 89 mph. Oeltjen demonstrated a quality breaking ball that adds depth to his pitching arsenal. As a well-rounded player, Oeltjen's dual-threat capabilities make him a valuable asset for Cactus Shadows High School and a high follow going into the spring season.

 

 

Michael Orbegozo RHP / OF / Campo Verde , AZ / 2025

Michael Orbegozo, a 2025 graduate from Campo Verde High School, made a significant impression on the mound, showcasing top-notch pitching abilities. Orbegozo delivered an impressive fastball consistently hitting the 84-87 mph range, with occasional peaks reaching 89 mph. Adding to his repertoire, he featured a deceptive low spin changeup that sat at 78-79 mph with a spin rate of 917. This off-speed pitch proved to be a valuable weapon, generating swing-and-miss opportunities and inducing weak contact. Orbegozo's pitching prowess positions him as a notable prospect to watch, and his refined arsenal sets the stage for success on the mound for Campo Verde High School.

Jaiden Lo Re SS / RHP / Corona Del Sol, AZ / 2025

Jaiden Lo Re, a 2025 graduate from Corona Del Sol High School, exhibited an impressive all-around performance during the weekend, particularly standing out during the workout day portion. Lo Re's defensive prowess at shortstop positions him as one of the top gloves in the state, displaying clean actions, a quick first step, and a robust 87 mph arm across the diamond. At the plate, Lo Re showcases a gap-to-gap hitting style, demonstrating the ability to send the ball to all fields, with a penchant for driving it to the pull side. What sets Lo Re apart is his undeniable competitive spirit, embodying the essence of a true gamer who approaches the game with a hard-nosed attitude and consistently high energy levels. 

 

 

Ashton Higgins RHP / OF / Notre Dame Prep, AZ / 2025

Ashton Higgins, a 2025 graduate from Notre Dame Prep High School, emerged as a standout on the mound during Sunday's showcase. The right-handed pitcher showcased a well-rounded repertoire, featuring a 3-pitch mix that included a fastball consistently sitting in the 84-87 mph range. What set Higgins apart was his impressive command and ability to effectively deploy all three pitches, keeping hitters off balance and working the strike zone with precision. His poised and composed approach on the mound signals a promising future for Higgins as he continues to refine his skills and contribute to the success of Notre Dame Prep's baseball program.

 

 

Bo DeWitt SS / 3B / Canyon View, AZ / 2024

Bo Dewitt, a 2024 graduate from Canyon View High School, made a lasting impression during the workout session with a display of exceptional athleticism. The 5-foot-10 middle infielder showcased his speed by clocking an impressive 6.87-second 60-yard dash. In the infield, Dewitt exhibited a clean and accurate glove, complemented by an 86 mph arm across the diamond, highlighting his defensive prowess. His skills extended to the batter's box, where Dewitt demonstrated a clean swing path, resulting in an impressive 96 mph exit velocity with a 75% sweet spot contact rate. Dewitt's well-rounded performance suggests he is a prospect to watch for his versatility and impact on both ends of the field.
