The state of Michigan is filled with high-level baseball prospects throughout each corner of the state. Ryan Zimmer RHP / C / Saint Clair, MI / 2020

SAINT CLAIR - For a long time Ryan Zimmer thought his college future was as a catcher.

But that changed two years ago. It turned out to be a positive move for Zimmer, who has committed to the University of Michigan as a pitcher.

“I was a catcher since I was eight,” the Saint Clair sophomore reflected. “But I had coaches inform me that if I wanted to go to college (and play baseball) pitching was the way to go. I started pitching seriously two years ago thinking it might get me farther. I started throwing harder and more accurate.”
