In a battle of unbeaten foes, Hidden Valley High School visited Christiansburg High School Tuesday to decide who is number one in the River Ridge Baseball Conference.  Two quality starters were tapped for the mound, Teddy Paisley for the Titans and sophomore Will Stout who led the Blue Demons into the fray on this windy evening.

Stout sailed through the first inning, striking out two in an impressive eight pitch frame. Christiansburg's lead-off hitter Ashton King got the party started with a opposite field single to right that skidded beneath the right fielders glove, landing King at third. Nick Carroll lined the next pitch into leftfield scoring King, and Alex Perkins lined a base hit of his own to keep the momentum rolling. RBI singles by Nick Meadows and Mitch Nowlin closed out the first with a commanding three run lead for Christiansburg.

On the mound, Stout continued to impress taking a no-hitter into the fourth. Matt Utermark's line drive single leading off the inning quickly halted the no-hit bid, however, Stout continued shutting down scoring threat like a veteran. For velocities and scouting information on Stout, check the Virginia/DC Scout Blog later this week.

The Blue Demons, would put the game on ice in the fourth and fifth, scoring five more runs. Stout would allow zero earned runs for the remainder of the afternoon, as teammates Meadows, Mitch Nowlin, and John Tuck all collected two RBI's. King and Carroll scored twice and two hits on the day.

Stout was sensational throughout, allowing just two hits, and striking out eight during the 8-1 complete game victory. The Blue Demons are very well coached team with a strong line-up top to bottom. Christiansburg is a team to watch this season, and with youngsters like Stout, the Blue Demons program projects a very bright future.
