Prep Baseball Report's IA Fall Review event took place on Sunday, October 16, 2016. The event was held indoors at Sports Iowa located in Ames, Iowa. The event featured 2017-2020 prospects from Iowa and Kansas who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff. infield Prospects

Theo Arndt, 2B/RHP, Charles City, 2018
5-foot-10, 145-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.43 runner. Narrow stance, strides to square with balance, quiet head, easy load, consistent solid contact, mid/away approach with ground ball and line drive contact, 77 mph exit velocity. Active feet, stops to field, long release on throws, sinking action to bag, accurate arm, 70 mph arm strength across infield.

Jack Benson, 2B, Cherokee, 2018
5-foot-10, 150-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. 7.21 runner. Wide stance, low hand set, flat bat path through zone, dead pull approach, ground ball contact, 77 mph exit velocity. Shows athleticism in field, raw actions and mechanics, avg. hands, low arm slot on release, 72 mph arm strength, accurate to bag.

Jack Brimacombe, SS/RHP, Blue Valley North (KS), 2018
6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.4 runner. Tall athletic stance, leg kick trigger, stays through zone well, consistent hard line drive contact to both gaps, with flashes of pop in bat, 90 mph exit velocity. Light on his feet, late glove presentation occasionally fielding deep in stance, solid glove with clean exchanges, long release on throws with clean arm action, 83 mph arm strength across infield.

Quinton Buresh, 2B, Iowa Falls-Alden, 2018
5-foot-7, 125-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. 7.56 runner. Slightly open to start, strides to square, crouched stance, flat bat plane through zone, works middle of field, line drive and ground ball contact, 70 mph exit velocity. Sits back to field occasionally, avg. glove and footwork, long release on throws, ¾ arm slot, arm and accuracy to bag should improve with following throws across and creating momentum with lower half, 69 mph arm strength.

Cameron Gallt, SS, Ames, 2020
5-foot-5, 120-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.47 runner. Tall stance, balanced stride, some stiffness in lower half, gap to gap approach, consistent solid contact, shows ability to use whole field, 72 mph exit velocity. Solid glove and footwork for age, clean exchanges, ok hands, avg. accuracy to bag, short clean arm action, 69 mph arm strength.

Jackson Hamlin, 2B, Clear Lake, 2018
5-foot-8, 135-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. 8.28 runner. Active load, hitchy finish through contact, pull approach, barrel consistently finds baseball, ground ball contact, 80 mph exit velocity. Shows avg. hands and feet, makes routine plays, throws flat-footed creating sinking action to bag, quick release on throws, 70 mph arm strength.

Steven Haroutunian, 2B, Mason City Newman, 2017
5-foot-8, 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman. 7.84 runner. Square stance, body load, flat swing plane through contact, consistently finds barrel, mid/pull approach with avg. pop in bat, 80 mph exit velocity. Works down to up, avg. glove, tends to throw flat-footed, low ¾ arm slot, accurate to bag with sinking action, 69 mph arm strength.

William Hawks, SS/RHP, Des Moines Roosevelt, 2018
5-foot-10, 160-pound switch-hitting 2-way player. 7.44 runner. Quality setup from both sides of plate, body load, transfers weight well through swing, quiet head producing consistent solid contact, gap to gap approach, loose hands and repeats line drive swing, 86 mph exit velocity. Solid athleticism and actions in field, soft glove, is active and plays through ball, short clean arm action with quick release, 77 mph arm strength. Follow in 2018 class.

Luke Ira, SS, Solon, 2018
6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. #30 ranked player in IA 2018 class. 6.85 runner. Slight shoulder load with knee to knee trigger, short to contact with line drive swing plane, some stiffness with both hands on bat through swing, gap to gap approach with consistent solid line drive and ground ball contact, 85 mph exit velocity. Shows actions in field with above avg. hands and feet, plays through the baseball and has sure hands, quick release and has accuracy to bag, 78 mph arm strength.

Landon Vander Leest, RHP/3B, Pella, 2018
6-foot-2, 192-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Strong physical build. 7.01 runner. Square stance with front heel turn trigger, low hand set, works up and through at contact, quick hands to baseball, loud line drive contact working both gaps, 80 mph exit velocity. Easy third base actions, soft glove, above avg. carry and accuracy to bag, solid defender, 80 mph arm strength across infield.

Cale Warren, 2B/OF, Davenport West, 2018
5-foot-11, 165-pound switch-hitting utility player. 7.64 runner. Active load and stride from left-side, pull approach, aggressive swinger, flashes solid pop in bat. Shows easier rhythm from right side, shoulder load, mid/pull approach, ground ball and fly ball contact, squared baseball more consistently from right-side, 62 mph exit velocity. Solid actions in outfield, clean arm action, fast hand out front, accurate to target, 79 mph arm strength from outfield. On the infield shows athleticism with clean exchanges, decent range and actions, arm plays on left-side, accurate to bag, 79 mph arm strength.
