Prep Baseball Report Iowa

Noah Egger, RHP, Waukee, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

EGGER: I chose NIACC because they have respected program, the coaches are very knowledgeable, they have very nice facilities, and they do some unique things with their pitchers that have been proven to work. Along with a handful of other reasons.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

EGGER: I was also considering Ellsworth Community College and DMACC.

PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?

EGGER: They first saw me at the Unsigned Senior Showcase that PBR put on at Valley High School in October. They contacted me the following week and we have stayed in touch roughly every week since then.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?

EGGER: Since it is a two year school I hope to come in and contribute as much as I can early on the pitching staff. I will do the best I can in whatever role they put me in.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

EGGER: My dad. He has pushed me to be the best I can be and put in extra work ever since I was little, even if I didn't want to. I'm very grateful for it.

PBR: What have you worked on/ improved since last year?

EGGER: As soon as Waukee was eliminated from the State Tournament in August my shortstop and I long tossed 3-4 times a week working on our arm strength until it was too cold to go outside. I have added 6 MPH to my fastball that way, along with lifting 4 times a week.

PBR: Who is the toughest player that you have faced in Iowa?

EGGER: Connor Enochs, I'm glad he'll be on my side next year.

PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.

EGGER: My advice for kids who haven't been discovered or haven't decided on a school is to always work hard. I cannot stress that enough. If you work hard and put in the time you will get noticed. Sometimes you have to make your own opportunities, even if that means emailing a college that you're interested in first. Go to showcases and show your best stuff. If you are good enough you will be discovered and recruited.
