Jacob Lewis, C/3B, South Warren HS, 2015

Jacob Lewis is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound C/3B from South Warren HS who showed well at the Underclass Games Event at Eastern Kentucky University in August.

Behind the plate, Lewis sets up well and shows good lateral blocking skills.  He showcased an accurate arm from the crouch at 75 mph and pop times that ranged from 1.96-2.06.  As a third baseman, he showed a strong and accurate arm across the infield at 82 mph.

Offensively, Lewis hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and shows occasional pull-side power.  He flashed his bat speed with an 88 mph exit velocity off the tee and went 1-for-3 in game action with a solid single to left field. 

Lewis put himself on the radar as a solid catching prospect.  He is currently ranked No.42 in Kentucky’s 2015 class.
