New England Insider: Uncommitted Underclass Spotlight - Connor Williams

Connor WilliamsName: Connor Williams
Position: RHP
School: East Catholic
Summer Ball: Team Connecticut Baseball
Class: 2017
Ranked: 76th in New England's 2017 class

Scouting Report: 6-foot, 180-pound solid athletic frame, shoulders and back are wide and he still has room for future development. A right-handed pitcher, delivery is repeatable and simple. The leg raise is under control, gets a real good gather, lands in line and squared up to the plate. The arm works out of a ¾ slot, pitched down in the zone and located very well to arm-side. The fastball was clocked at 84-86 mph with good sink and late life. The arm is powerful, has more in there, could finish the arm swing a tick more. The breaking ball was 67-71 mph, has good shape and spin to it. The changeup has some cut action to it, but he needs to sell it more with entire body. Times to the plate were 1.47, delivery works and flows nicely. Solid follow for me, could be a guy out of the pen.
