The Outlook: Laufenberg popped up last spring when I was getting a look at Verona catcher Ben Rortvedt. He impressed with his fastball that he ran up to 87 mph and showed occasional sinking action. He was named Honorable Mention all Big Eight. This fall he racked up 109 total tackles and had four interceptions for the Verona football team and was named first team all defense as a defensive back. 

Scouting Report: 4/12/16 - 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with long, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a short stride out front, creating a downhill angle on his pitches. In the first inning fastball sat 84-85 topping out at 87 mph one time. Settled into the 82-84 mph range and flashed occasional sink. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 73-76 mph. Changeup sat 76-78 mph. Still working on command of repertoire.
