Today’s Player Spotlight is an unsigned senior, Kevin Rex.  Rex is an athletic LHP/OF out of Park Tudor HS in Indianapolis.  The 6-foot-1, 175 pound senior was a key component to the Panther’s success last season, helping lead the team to the Class 2A Semi-State Round. 

On the mound Rex throws from a high ¾ arm slot with good arm speed.  His fastball sits at 84-85 mph, getting up to 86-87 at times.  He shows a good breaking ball, thrown consistently for a strike along with a changeup that shows good sink.  In the field he shows a strong arm at 88 mph.  His throws are accurate, and shows good defensive actions from the outfield.

At the plate Rex possesses an advanced approach.  He uses a short stride, using his lower half well.  The swing is easy and has good speed.  Rex has the ability to drive the ball with good pop. 

Rex also possesses good speed, running a 6.89 sixty.
