Prep Baseball Report of North Carolina is excited to announce its North Carolina All PBR Team. Award after the 2023 season generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, PBR of NC is excited to announce the players who made the PBR All State 1st Team. Its a collection of standout players from across the state. All had big years and played a major part in their teams success.

Bristol Carter OF / Northwest Guilford, NC / 2023 Led his club to the 4A West Finals. Broke the Northwest Guilford record for hits and stolen bases this season. Not only did he put up impressive numbers but had several big hits during the viking playoff run.

Jaxon Matthews OF / Hough , NC / 2026 The Freshman performed liked a veteran helping Hough to another winning season. He hit .558 on the year with 13 XBH, 30 RBIs and 18 SB.

Dual Threats

Anderson Nance RHP / Morehead, NC / 2024 Did all while leading Morehead to the 2A West Finals and winning Conference Player of the Year Honors. Struck out 132 in 69.2 IP. Hit .368 with 38 BB and 23 SB.

Cooper Allen 3B / Wake Forest , NC / 2023 Played a huge role in the Wake Forest run to the State Finals. A force at the plate with big hits throughout the year while also winning 2 must win games on the mound in the playoffs.

Josh Hammond RHP / Westchester Country Day, NC / 2025 A force on the mound and at the plate. Hit 7 HR with 9 2B and 24 RBIs. Went 8-0 on the mound with 83 punch outs in 47.1 IP.

 

Pitchers

Cooper Cavanaugh LHP / Topsail, NC / 2023 Impressive season for the Southpaw leading Topsail to another playoff appearance. Struck out 134 in 64.1 IP while only walking 9 batters.

Harrison Lewis RHP / West Forsyth, NC / 2023 The hard throwing righty put together a dominant season for the Titans. Struck out 106 in 66 IP with a 1.27 ERA. Won Pitcher of the Year in the Central Piedmont 4A.

Truitt Manuel RHP / West Henderson, NC / 2024 Manuel did what Aces do and pitched West Henderson to a 3A State Title. He punched out 110 in 61.2 IP while only allowing 6 ER on the year.

Walker McDuffie RHP / SS / Lee County, NC / 2024 Dominant start to finish collecting a ton of strikeouts throughout the year while be very efficient with his pitch counts.  7-2 overall in 12 appearances, throwing 5 complete games and 3 shutouts.  Threw 70.2 innings giving up just 37 hits and 8 earned runs (0.79ERA).  Impressive 146 strikeouts and only 15 walks in 2023.

Samuel Harris SS / Needham Broughton, NC / 2025 Helped lead Broughton to one of its more successful season in recent years. Took home Conference Pitcher of the Year Honors striking out 90 in 59.1 IP while only allowing 2 Runs.

Nathan Teague RHP / Southern Alamance, NC / 2023 The Vanderbilt commit was impressive through the 2023 season. He went 10-1 with 1 save while striking out 127 in 72.1 IP.

Tate Jones RHP / Walter M Williams, NC / 2024 Jones was consistently dominant through the year. He tossed 65 IP posting a .22 ERA and 102 punch outs. He also tossed 2 No-Hitters.

Carson Morton RHP / West Stanly, NC / 2023 Key contributor on a talented west Stanly club. Dominant all year on the bump tossing 60.1 IP with a .928 ERA and 115 K's.
