SCOTT BULLOCK: HEAD COACH, ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL

1.Out of the 11 years you have coached at Rocky Mountain, what are you most proud of during your tenure?

Most proud of the Culture that we have been able to create. Our players do a great job on and off the field. They're good people and they play hard. It has also been fun to watch them become adults and do good things in life.

2. If you had to describe to someone what the phrase "Rocky-Baseball" means to you, what would you say?

I would use just one word "Family". Everyone has a role. The coaches, players and parents all do their part. I am happy to do my part, but it is much bigger than me. I never say my program or my team, it is always our program and our team.

3. Who in your mind, have been the standout players in Colorado high school baseball this year?

That is tough, I thought our 2014 class in Colorado was maybe the best I have ever seen. Too many to list. I will say this, my two favorite players were Zach Bartholomew and Brody Knauer. Both guys were Seniors at Rocky Mountain and they rarely made the lineup card but they understood what it means to be a Team Player. I love those type of guys!

4. You have created an unbelievable baseball culture in your community. What are some of the things you do to create a positive baseball atmosphere in your community?

We develop the Person first. The rest falls into place. One of my favorite saying is "Its about the Jimmy's and Joe's not the X's and O's".

5. Your program has had the opportunity to have been to the 5A state championship 6 out of the last 8 years including winning 4 in a row from 2007 to 2010 and 5 total including this year. I know that every coach can look back at a season and have one awesome memory. Can you share that one awesome memory over the run of the last 8 years?

I probably have over a 1,000 awesome memories and all equally awesome. This last Championship was by far the most emotional for me because it was the first one I didn't have my brother and father to celebrate with. My Brother died in 2011 and my father this last January.

6. You have had some adversity in your life. When you were 6 years old your older brother Dean had a diving accident that led to him becoming quadriplegic, and your mother died 6 months later. You also lost Dean, who passed in January of 2011. You also just recently lost your father. What advice can you give to people on how to get through tough times?

I have a wonderful wife, two beautiful sons and two amazing older sisters that have been with me through that adversity. It helps to have that type of support when dealing with tough times. My advice would be, lean on your loved ones. I would also tell them that positive attitude and toughness are both choices we make everyday.

7. Please look at the following phrases and give me a one or two word reaction to each:
