Diamond Notes is a weekly compilation of notes on South Carolina players from last week.  Each week Coaches from across the state send in player notes and stats as the Prep Baseball staff is working to name a PB Player of the Week.  Prep Baseball scouts are also compiling player notes from attended games, as well as box scores from across the state.

Below we take a look at some of the top performers from the second week of the high school season. The SC Pitcher of the Week was Caleb Coker from East Clarendon HS. Jackson Mullen from Catawba Ridge HS earned Player of the Week Honors.

+ 7th grader playing varsity hitting .360 on the season 

Braydon Hallman, SS,P, Batesburg-Leesville, 2026

+ Offense: 5-10, 2B, 3B, HR, 4 RBI. Pitching: 5.1 IP, 3 ER, 7 SO. Against fox creek x2 and swansea.  
+ Hitting .385/yr, 1.79 ERA and 29 SO in 27.1 IP on the year  

Jackson Mullen, RF/P, Catawba Ridge High School, 2024

+ Offensive Statistics from the week: 7-11 (.636), 2 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 6 Runs. Mullen also pitched a 5-inning complete game, only giving up 1 hit, 0 earned runs, 7 strikeouts.  Added an OF assist from RF throwing out a runner attempting to go from 1st to 3rd.
+ All stats are from three games against Lancaster High School.  Lancaster entered the series with a 9-1 overall record. 
+ Offensive Stats for the season: 21-45 (.467), 7 2B, 3 HR, 20 RBI, 12 Runs, 4 SB.  Pitching Stats for the season: 3-1 W/L, 19 IP, 14 H, 5 BB, 31 K, 0.74 ERA 

Peyton Dhein, P/OF, Catawba Ridge High School, 2024

+ Complete game 6-inning shutout: 1-0 W/L, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K, 50 strikes in 68 total pitches
+ Shut-out was against Lancaster who entered the week with a 9-1 overall record. 
+ For the season, Dhein has compiled the following stats: 4-0 W/L, 1 Save, 24.1 IP, 9 Hits, 0 Earned Runs, 3 BB, 40 K, 0.00 ERA, 0.493 WHIP, Opponents Batting Average is .107 for the season.

+ Campbell pitched a complete game shutout in game 2 of a conference DH vs. Darlington.  We won 1-0 
+ He is now 3-0 and has lowered his ERA to 1.62 w/ 24 strikeouts in 21.2 IP.  Our team is now 10-3 overall and 4-0 in Region VI-AAA 

Jackson Sellers, Utility, Buford High School , 2026

+ Week stats 2 games:  4-8, 3 RBI’s, 1 run 1.2 innings 0.00 ERA, 2BB, 2K 
+ Game winning walk off single in the first game.  Played 1st base, 3rd base, pitched, and Right field over the 2 games. A true utility player.
