Background

Nick Carnevale was one of a dozen underclassmen to attend the inaugural New Jersey Top Prospect Games on July 16th and his invitation was validated by his performance throughout the event. The athletic, 5-foot-10, 150 pound prospect plays Lyndhurst High School and has seen success in the high school ranks already. He will be in attendance at the Underclass Games on September 20th.

Scouting Report

The 2017 shortstop is wiry strong and athletic. He is an impressive defender, showing the ability to pick it and transfer it quickly. At this time, he has OK arm strength but this aspect of his game, like his ability to run and hit, will catch up as he matures physically. He showed enough range to suggest that he will be a shortstop at the next level.

Offensively, Nick has shown the ability to control the barrel and make consistently solid contact. He hits from an open stance and stays balanced throughout his swing. He ran just a 7.33 in the 60-yard dash but his foot speed suggests that this time will get better as he gets stronger. He should develop into a solid division one prospect.
