Tournament of Champions

MIDLAND, T.X. – The annual Tournament of Champions offered a glimpse of some of the top prospects the West Texas area has to offer. Several talented players were on display including several promising 2021 and 2022 prospects who should be a lot of fun to watch over the next few years.

SCOUT NOTES

Teo Banks, RHP/OF, Permian, 2021
Tulane Recruit. With an athletic 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame, Banks has a lot to project on. Showed well both on the mound and at the plate all weekend. On the mound, has a long, loose arm path working from a high ¾ arm slot. FB sat 86-89 T90 for majority of the outing, had late arm-side run, making it very uncomfortable for RHH. SL was 77-78 with short late breaking action. At the plate, had a very offensive weekend hitting .705 with 2 HR. Starts from a tall upright stance with a pronounced leg kick, hangs foot, consistently gets it down on time. Swings with controlled aggression with the potential to develop some big-time power. Legit two-way potential. Showed some relatively raw tools this weekend that should be a lot of fun to watch as he continues to refine his game.
