Prep Baseball Illinois Pitcher of the Week: Louie Sisto

By: Pete Hamot
Assistant Director, Illinois & Wisconsin

RHP Louie Sisto (2024; South Suburban commit) has been one of the top arms for the St. Rita Mustangs for some time now, and this past week was potentially his most dominant start in his prep career, firing a complete game shutout against No. 2 St. Laurence to earn the win. For his efforts, Sisto has been named this week’s Pitcher of the Week.

The Mustangs fell to St. Laurence just a couple days before by the score of 10-0, so a lot was riding on Sisto’s outing as he toed the rubber in this Chicago Catholic League matchup. The South Suburban commit proceeded to fire eight shutout innings in a complete game effort to take down St. Laurence in extras by the score of 1-0, scattering just six hits, two walks and two strikeouts along the way.

In his last two outings, Sisto has not allowed an earned run over 14 innings of work, striking out 10, as he now sits at 3-2 on the year. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound right-hander has shown well in front of our staff on numerous occasions, boasting a fastball that can get into the mid-80s with a low-70s curveball.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
