As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

Head Coach Jason Wilkerson heads into the 2014 season excited about this year's group as he believes a Pocket Athletic Conference championship and Sectional championship are both achievable goals for this year's Marksmen.  Returning for Tell City is SS/OF Spenser Beard, a 6-foot-1, 180 pound Junior that hit .443 with 9 2B, 1 HR and 26 steals last year.  Beard is currently ranked No. 135 in Indiana's class of 2015 rankings.  Expected to contribute heavily at the plate are senior catcher Austin Paulin and sophomore C/2B Gant Miller.  Paulin finished last spring hitting .431 with 8 2B and 17 RBI, while Miller hit .389 with 8 2B and 12 RBI. On the mound coach Wilkerson's squad will look to three RHP's for quality innings. Cody Rowe, a 5-foot-10, 175 pound Junior, finished last season with a 4-1 record and a 3.83 ERA. Senior Rhett Baumeister is a 5-foot-10, 180 pound righty that finished 5-3 with 36 K's in 2013 and senior Chris Schaefer, a 6-foot, 195 pound RHP, also returns after finishing last season 4-3 with 45 K's.
