Scouting Report

MD Unsigned Senior Games 8.7.18

Big, solid body type and 6-foot-2, 220 pound frame. Cerrud-Osmer hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly open, wide base at the plate with minimal movement. Small pick it up - put it down front foot stride and slight back load. Does a nice job with lower half and remains balanced throughout swing. Stays behind the ball well and showed quick hands and fast bat speed. Exit velo was up to 95 mph. Shorter, level swing path with ability to put balls in gaps with ease. Showed some present strength at the plate during BP as well. Moves well at first base and showed fluid footwork turning the double play. Quick, clean exchanges throwing with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 81 mph. Plays through the ball in the outfield with fluid footwork and a quick, clean exchange. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 83 mph. Also ran a 7.25 60-yard dash.

2.12.17 - Cerrud-Osmer as a well built, 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame. He has a controlled build up style delivery with his durable frame. He has a longer, free arm action throwing from a ¾ slot. The ball darts out of his hand. He works downhill well, lower half works but could get more involvement. He falls off towards first base. He could get better lower half involvement with increased shoulder/hip flexibility upon footstrike (Hips being to open, shoulders close off longer) to create torque. He pitches with regular effort. His fastball is consistently 74-76 with some arm side run. His breaking ball is 65-67 with gradual break but shows potential at times----Cerrud has a well built, 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame. He runs a 7.3 60-yard dash. At the plate he shows raw, pull-side power with an exit velocity of 94 mph. He hits from an upright stance with a short, level swing path. Would like to see a little bit more rhythm throughout his swing that could add even more power. At first base he shows sound footwork with soft hands. Clean actions around the bag and was 77mph across the infield from a low ¾ slot...

12.4.16:  Cerrud-Osmer is 6-1 with an athletic frame, hits from an athletic open stance. Strides on line, smooth back load, decent hips with above average balance during swing. Short to the ball with extension through it. Level, line drive swing, good approach working gap-to-gap, exit velocity of 91. At short, clean footwork and above average hands, clean quick exchange. Low three-quarters arm slot with short arm action, position velocity of 67. 60 time was 7.25.
