The first game of the night presented an eager crowd at Shirley Povich Park with CH Flowers from Prince George’s county facing Severna Park from Anne Arundel county.  George Lesher (Towson) took the hill to start for the Severna Park Falcons and faced of against Thomas Espinosa for the Jaguars.  In the first inning both line ups would get a runner to first but strand them right there.

The lefty Espinosa would get the Falcons in order in the second.  In the bottom half of the second Flowers would strike for the first run of the game.  Chardale Folks reached on an error at short and stole second base.  With two outs James Toney singled and picked up the RBI.

In the third the Falcons batted around off of Espinosa, scoring four runs.  Luke Guy hitting in the seven hole led off with a single, Garrett Whitaker singled, and took second on the throw to third.  AJ Weyant grounded to third to score the first run for Severna Park.  Nick Horgan and Cameron Clark drew back to back walks bringing Kody Milton to the plate who reached on an error at short.  With two outs Brenden Simonds walked, then Lesher hit an RBI single.  When the dust had settled the Falcons had put four on the board and taken the lead back 4-1. In the bottom half of the third, Tremayne Cobb Jr walked with two outs.  He quickly stole second and third.  Espinosa reached on an error at third base to give the Jaguars the lead.  The inning would end when Whitaker caught Espinosa trying to advance to third.

Flowers would have a golden opportunity to close the gap in the 5th when they had first and second with one out but Lesher would work out of the jam.

Severna Park would add single runs in both of the sixth and seventh off of Flowers reliever Terrell Delaney.  Guy walked and Weyant singled.  Horgan drove in the run with a sacrafice fly to center.  In the seventh back to back walks by Lesher and Jeffries and a single by Guy would get the Falcons their sixth run.

The Jaguars would mount one final rally in the seventh with a Jaden Pinkney solo homerun, a Toney single, and back to back hit by pitches.  Milton would come in to close the door and end the game with a final of Falcons 6 and Jaguars 4.

The nightcap would feature the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons vs the Howard Lions.  Thomas Baer started on the mound for BCC and faced Brenden Foster.  Howard jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a lead of hit by pitch from Craig Wiley (York College).  With two outs Ryan Kulick singled and Matt Flynn doubled driving in Jerry O’Neil who had reached on a fielders choice.  The 1-0 lead would hold up until the bottom of the second when the Barons would strike for 2 runs. Nils Townsend and Zach Alfonso both singled bringing up Sabastian Mieses (Mount Saint Mary’s) who doubled driving in both runners.

The Lions would strike back with two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.  In the fourth three straight singles from Chase Eberwein, Wiley and O’Neil would lead to runs.  In the fifth Matt Flynn and Alex Campbell hit back to back doubles.

The Barons would have scoring chances in every inning but the seventh.  They had a total of 13 runners on base and left 10 on base.  The thirdrd run came in the fifth with a lead off double from Townsend, a walk from Adwyn Viera and an RBI single from Alfonso.  This would be all that the Barons would get as the Lions would win 5-3.
