The Chopticon Braves put eleven runs in the middle innings en-route to a 13-2 victory over the La Plata Warriors on a Friday SMAC matchup.

This matchup between the Braves and the Warriors featured ten walks, eleven strikeouts, and two home runs. Both starting pitchers struggled with their command in the first allowing two runs to score but managed to fight through the inning to strand five runners between them.

The second inning both pitchers started to settle in and look more comfortable, holding both offenses scoreless. In the third and fourth innings the Braves plated six runs to break the tie, giving them a commanding 12-2 lead.  Elijah Tyding the starter for Chopticon would battle his early nerves holding the Warriors at bay for 4.1 innings, for a final line of two earned runs, six strikeouts and six walks to earn the win.

The Braves offense was led by the middle of the lineup who totaled nine RBI on the day.  The four, five, and six hitters made up of 2019 C/OF Chase Burroughs (Charlotte), 2020 Travis Wedding and Jordan Faunce combined to go 7-for-10 with six doubles and a homerun.  In the top of the fifth the Braves added on an additional insurance run to make it a final score of 13-2. Chopticon improves to (4-1) and La Plata falls to (4-3) on the season.  For La Plata, Ryan Calvert and Zack Hill both had RBI singles to drive in the Warrior runs.
