With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Tree of Life Christian Trojans

Team Name: Tree of Life Christian Trojans
Head Coach: Matt Shonkwiler
Division: IV
2017 Record: 15-10
Conference Record: Mid-Ohio Christin Athletic League, 8-0, 1st Place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/5

2018 Team Strengths:

  • Leadership
  • Experience
  • Starting Pitching
  • Defense

Coach Outlook: With a number of returning starters, led by junior Kaleb Thompson (unanimous 1st Team all--central district), the Tree of Life Trojans will look to build off of their 2017 district championship appearance. With strong starting pitching and defense, the Trojans will also look to compete for their fourth straight MOCAL title.

PBR Outlook: Coach Matt Shonkwiler returns 7 starters and 5 arms from last year's 15 win team. Look for the Trojans to be competitive all year.
