PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
BAGENSTOS: I have had discussions with Truman State, Iowa Central Community College, University of Dubuque and recently I’ve been contacted by Coe, Luther, and Central Colleges.

PBR: Have you developed a relationship with any specific coaches?
BAGENSTOS: I’m in the development phase at this point in time.   I’ve enjoyed speaking with them all and I am learning a lot from each of them throughout the recruitment process.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? If so, please describe each visit.
BAGENSTOS: I’ve visited Truman State, Iowa Central Community College and University of Dubuque. Each visit has been very comfortable for me. The coaches at all three schools were very easy to talk to and they displayed a good balance of building strong athletes while supporting the academic needs of the student. Each program I’ve visited has had a strong desire for success on the field and in the classroom.

PBR: Do you have any visits scheduled?
BAGENSTOS: I have a couple team workout invitations for this fall. I am playing fall ball with the Iowa Sticks 18U Scout Team which could provide some exposure that could lead to more interest.

PBR: Do you have any offers at this stage?
BAGENSTOS: I do have a couple of offers on the table at this time both academically and athletically.

PBR: Do you have a timeline for your commitment?
BAGENSTOS: I would love to be able to make a decision by November.  College is the biggest decision I’ve had to make in my life.  I understand the impact it could have on my life so I want to make sure it’s the right one.

PBR: Do you have a favorite at this stage? If so, who and why?
BAGENSTOS: All the schools I’ve visited have very good pre-med programs and very friendly/informative coaches. I see benefits to each school and location so it may come down to where I can make the quickest impact on the baseball team while working toward my degree.

PBR: What showcases or events have been most meaningful to your recruitment thus far?
BAGENSTOS: I’ve really enjoyed the showcase experience. I think the PBR showcases I’ve attended have been a good supplement to simply reaching out to coaches directly. I’ve sent several emails with my athletic resume to the coaches at my schools of interest, but I think the PBR showcase stats with video has provided the coaches with a tool to validate what I am telling them. PBR provides the “Non Biased” representation the coaches need to sift through information quickly. I really appreciate the social media approach from PBR as well. If you’re at an event and you’re doing well you know that someone somewhere is reading a tweet about you. I also think regular season play as well as a good fall ball program is key to the success of an athlete to get recognized.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
BAGENSTOS: Cumulative GPA is 4.08. My first attempt on the ACT was a 26.  I intend to retake it in September or December of this year with a goal of 30.
