Ohio Spotlight Game: North Ridgeville vs Berea Midpark

Berea – In a Southwestern Conference game the North Ridgeville Rangers traveled to Berea to take on the Berea Midpark Titans. The Titans used four big innings to come out on top by the score of 12-3.

North Ridgeville struck first plating a run in the top of the first inning. After a single and a passed ball senior catcher Seth Anderson knocked in senior outfielder Cory Panigutti to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.

Berea Midpark would answer back with four runs of their own. After three walks sophomore outfielder J.C. Bricker singled to left field giving the Titans a 2-1 lead. Berea would never look back.

They went on to score two more runs in the 3rd and 4th inning, and capped the game off with four runs in the 6th inning.

The Titan offense was led by junior shortstop Corey Hedrick and senior outfielder Connor Kahl. They combined for four hits and seven runs batted in.

Berea’s starting pitcher, junior right hander Jeff Petkac went the distance for the Titans picking up his second straight complete game victory. He held the Rangers to five hits and zero earned runs. He walked two batters and struck out eight.

With the win Berea Midpark improved their record to 4-6 and return to action on Thursday, April 21st, 2016 as they square off with Amherst Steele.

With the loss North Ridgeville fall to 1-11.
