Hudson Graham
Georgia Scouting Director

The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Grizzlies will look to bounce back in 2024, as Matt Gershon takes on his 2nd year as head coach. Their sophomore and junior classes are really strong, and have the right seniors to pull together a strong squad this season. Auburn Montgomery commit, Alec Hotaling has really progressed, and will look to lead the Grizzlies in '24. Senior, Carter Gilliam will patrol the outfield, and be a consistet bat at the plate. Jack Gibson and WIll Clevenger will round out the seniors in the line up. Juniors Jackson Stanley and Brodie Carter will be 2 of the biggest pieces in the line up. Stanley has gained a ton of experience the last couple of seasons, and will look to have a breakout year. Wofford commit, PJ Fitzpatrick will be their go to guy on the mound. He has made a ton of progress over the summer, and could continue to climb with the long, lanky projectable frame. They have a really strong sophomore class that saw some time last year, and should really contribute this season. Luke Nitkowski will be one of their go to guys on the mound, as well as Caden Jackson in relief. Nitkowski will also be a key contributor in the infield at in the line up. The Penrod twins will contribute in the line up, and Garrett Ray is a versatile outfielder that could see time both at the plate and on the mound. Coach Gershon has the talent to string together a multiple years of successful seasons.
