Austyn Cochran, (Raymore-Peculiar, 2014) is a strong 6-foot, 200-pound OF that hit .360 with one home run and 19 RBI in the spring of 2013.  He led the Panthers to the semi-finals of districts, where Ray-Pec suffered a 3-2 loss to a talented Lee's Summit West team.  Last summer and fall, he played for Building Champions Gold U17.  The physical outfielder is still looking for a college to call home next fall.

Cochran is not only all business on the baseball field, he carries a 2.8 GPA and a received a 20 on his ACT.  "I am looking for a school with a good business program," Cochran mentioned of his future college.  Currently, Cochran is has no school visits planned.

Currently, Cochran is preparing for the 2014 season in the weight room and in the cage.  His team goals are to lead Ray-Pec to a district title, in a very talented Missouri Class 5 district.  He has the potential to lead his team in average, slugging percentage and RBI as a senior.

At the Prospect Identification Showcase on November 3 in Topeka, Kansas, Cochran impressed with his defensive actions and power potential at the plate. Cochran showed good instincts in the outfield, moves athletically through the baseball, and was accurate with all his throws (77 mph) that had some carry. At the plate, Cochran has an open stance and maintained excellent balance through contact.  He has a very quiet approach at the plate, displaying loose hands and a quick bat through the zone that produced line drives with back spin carry.  Additionally, Cochran ran a 7.38 60 and had a top exit velo of 88 mph off the bat. Cochran has the potential to be one of the top power hitters in the Class of 2014 as he continues to progress
