Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 4 (April 1-7).

 

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Owen White RHP / 3B / Middle Tennessee Christian, TN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 75 / POS: 23 White, who has been a frequent visitor at Prep Baseball Tennessee events, had a really strong week offensively for the Cougars slashing 9-18 (.500) with 2 2B's, 5 HR's, 13 RBI's, 8 Runs, and .571 OBP. He has been a staple in the 3-hole for the club hitting 26-59 (.441), 7 2B's, 6 HR's, 22 RBI's, 20 Runs, with a .542 OBP on the season thus far.

 

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Phinn Waters LHP / OF / Briarcrest, TN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 36 / POS: 6 Waters has been steadily making consistant noise on the mound this season where he has been racking up K's at almost 2 per inning, while also showing the ability to command the strike-zone with multiple pitches. He collected a region win this past week going 6 innings, giving up 0 H's and 0 R's with 18 K's, striking out every single batter he faced.
