2013 Underclass Spotlight: Brock Frentzel (Gahanna Lincoln HS)

Brock Frentzel, 1B/LHP, Gahanna Lincoln HS, Class of 2013Frentzel

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect is just one of several talented members of Gahanna Lincoln's junior class.

Recently, Frentzel stood out as one of the top performers at the Pre-Season Underclass Showcase.

His scouting report notes:

Strong 6-foot-3, 230-pound body. Moves very well for size. Solid defensive action and shows quickness. Has good lateral feet and accepts ball very well. Has playable 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. Lefty bat shows upside. Showed good lower body torque to enhance power. Good load and directional path with some upper cut. Has 80 mph bat velo off the tee.

To prepare for the spring season and in an effort replicate last year's success, Frentzel has been this winter.

"I lift three days a week, I take hitting lessons twice a week, pitching lessons once a week, and work on speed and agility throughout the week."

Gahanna Lincoln plays in one of the toughest conferences in the state, so Frentzel and the Lions have their workout cut out for them.

"I feel our conference is strong as a whole; although I am looking forward to facing Pickerington Central as well as Pickerington North."

This summer, Frentzel will be playing for the 18U Ohio Panthers.

He will be participating in the Top Prospect Games at Prasco Park in June.
