Scouting Report

Team: Prospects Academy
PBR Events Attended: Junior Dinos Scout Day
Background: Froment was the everyday shortstop for the St. Albert Cardinals during the 2017 season and he looks to have a breakout season in his senior year. The right-handed hitting shortstop shows a short and compact swing with an aggressive approach at the plate, he keeps the barrel through the zone well, and displays power to both gaps. On the infield, Froment shows good carry on the ball, uses good footwork and angles, and plays through the ball with intent. He will continue to get stronger and quicker, there is room to improve with his 60 time coming in at 6.9 seconds. Reps are not an issue throughout the offseason as he is getting his work in with the Prospects Academy in St. Albert, one of the top high school Academies in the province, producing many talented college players year after year.
Need to Know: Having led his team to a 32-2 record in league play this past season, Froment looks to again team up with his brother Liam (one of the top pitching prospects in his 2019 class) and help St. Albert win a provincial championship. He has been as consistent and reliable for coach Houston the past two seasons and is looking to improve the little things and fine tune his game this year before moving on to the next level. Froment’s abilities are a testament to the hard work he has put in over the last few years both on and off the field.
