SB Adams Loses Momentum after Knocking off No. 1 Earlier in the Week

South Bend Adams came into Wednesday night’s matchup vs. Mishawaka Marian with tons of momentum after knocking off No. 1 Elkhart Central the night before.  However, that momentum came to a quick halt as Marian scored four runs in the first, powered by sophomore catcher Joshua Turnock’s double. Turnock had a consistent a 2.2-2.25 pop time behind the plate, showing good athleticism.  Also, contributing for the Knights was Andrew Price, who reached base four times, twice with singles and twice on errors.  Senior outfielder Matt Gibson was also a key contributor, mustering up four hits on the evening.

Marian would end up walking away with a 7-1 win over Adams. Junior Clint Lowenhar picked up the win working 6 innings, while Michael Farkas closed out the game.  Farkas is a right handed sophomore pitcher that is very wiry at 6’3 and 150 pounds.  The righty works from a low ¾ arm slot, showing a quick arm, sitting at 81-82 mph.
