Colton FlahertyColton Flaherty, C, Monroe Jefferson, 2016

PBR: Why did you choose Bowling Green State?
Colton: I visited and enjoyed my visit. The college itself is very nice. The coaching staff is phenomenal. And the biggest reason is that, from day one, the coaching staff showed an extreme interest and wanted me to be apart of their program. Their want and drive to sign me makes me feel wanted and if I go somewhere I'm wanted for playing baseball is the best setting a player can be in. No one likes playing for a team they don't feel comfortable on, that makes the game of baseball harder and more stressful than it already is.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Colton: I had a lot of colleges show interest and offer for multiple positions. Missouri Baptist, Kalamazoo State CC, Wabash Valley CC, Prairie State, and I was talking with Tennessee.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you?
Colton: I went to their showcase and met them there.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable moment?
Colton: I played for Prospect Scouts 18u. I believe my most memorable moment was getting All Tournament Honors for both my hitting and catching when we played in Emerson, Georgia's Perfect Game Evoshield Classic.

PBR: Now that you have committed, what are your remaining goals for high school?
Colton: All-League, All-Region and All-State honors for baseball. Academic All-State honors. Get my ACT up to a 27+. Get as many scholarships applications in as possible and get my High School GPA up to a 3.80+.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter and pitcher that you have faced?
Colton: I don't have a toughest hitter or pitcher for either side. Although my favorite pitcher to catch is Jalen Evans from Warren Mott HS.
