Top Prospect Games Knoxville: Pitcher Reports

PBR Tennessee Staff

KNOXVILLE, TN - The Top Prospect Games: Knoxville was held on Tuesday, June 13th and Wednesday, June 14th at Lindsey Nelson Stadium at the University of Tennessee. This event was an invite-only event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2027 classes from Volunteer state. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens during the workout and were able to get numbers and metrics. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing from the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for this event, we take a look back at the scouting reports from the event. Next, by looking at all the pitchers from the Top Prospect Games: Knoxville.

Delivery: Stays over the rubber with an online drive down the mound. Later hand break that he synchs up well leg lifts.
Arm Action: RH. Straight elbow arm path towards home that allows hims to hide the ball extremely well. Could look to gain more scap pull as he has more separation in his upper half that could allow him to gain some additional velocity
FB: T79, 76-78 mph. FB has high induced vertical break so it will play up in the zone. Has potential to be swing and miss, offspeed plays off his FB well T1990, 1822 average rpm.

ATH: 7.65 runner in the 60. 1.81 and 4.27 10 and 30 yard splits.

Connor Hamilton, Montgomery Bell Academy (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-4, 200-pounds. Long frame with tons of projection that has some present muscle build and could add plenty of size still
Delivery: Clean hips that work with a well built frame. Believe there is plenty of room for added fluidity in his mechanics. Overall, opens his hips up really well and creates ideal shoulder/hip separation. Stacks his shoulders nicely, which allows him to command his fastball extremely well.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action that stays tight into his body. Almost has a late hand break and his arm must compensate by staying shorter. I believe he has more velo present to him with his frame. Could add some initial arm cocking to help with additional velocity and stuff.
FB: T88, 86-87 mph. FB plays really well with sneaky late life. Lacks some induced vertical break and could be early pronating with his wrist but has plus arm speed. Spins the ball pretty well and it could just come down to cleaning up his wrist action and positioning. Will play well low to righties and offers the ability to feel up the zone with this pitch. T2320, 2145 average rpm.
CB: 73-75 mph. Solid shape at 12/6 here that offers late downward action. Think he does show this pitch somewhat earlier than needed and better hitters will notice it out of hand. Would like to see him have somewhat of a longer lever with his forearm and elbow to create not only a truer shape, but with firmer velocity and snap. T1815, 1698 average rpm.
SL: 73-74 mph. Hybrid curveball/slider shape currently. Doesn't spin it all that well currently and I think that can go back to his initial forearm levering action at hand break. Should be able to spin this pitch in the 2600 range just going off his fastball numbers. T1690, 1680 average rpm.
CH: 79-79 mph. Best secondary offering at this point. Kills a lot of spin with this pitch and tunnels it nicely off of his fastball. Offers a different shape than his fastball with firmness with the pitch around 80 mph. T1746, 1683 average rpm.

CB: 64-67 mph. Good shape to it, being in the zone will be key. FB will play off the CB well, potential to get swing and miss T1833, 1728 average rpm.
CH: 73-73 mph. CH has arm side fade to it, will get hitters out on their front foot. Needs to be a strike T1296, 1296 average rpm.

Arm Action: RH. Quick arm, gets down through the ball well. After hand break his arm is moving fast in a long arm action
FB: T84, 83-84 mph. FB really spins well. Has good carry and backspin to it. FB being in the zone will get good results, swing and miss potential up in the zone T2421, 2367 average rpm.
