2023 PBR All-American Game, Spotlight: Kale Fountain

On Saturday, Sept. 23, Prep Baseball Report is hosting its inaugural High School All-American Game at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The unique event will feature the nation’s top high school seniors who are set to battle against a roster of the country’s best juniors in Class of 2024 vs. Class of 2025 action, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.

We’ve begun to unveil the event’s participants on our social media channels, and we’ll spotlight those players more closely on our site, too, highlighting past performances and scouting reports from the live looks we’ve gathered on this gifted group throughout the years.

Next we're highlighting Nebraska native Kale Fountain, an LSU commit and a premium power bat in the country's 2024 class. Fountain is the top-ranked prospect in Nebraska and sits within the top-20 in the nation in our recent rankings update. He got off to an impressive start in 2023, putting up a maximum exit velocity of 106.7 mph and an average bat speed of 76.9 mph at the PBR Midwest ProCase in February. He carried that momentum into the summer, showing well in front of our staff throughout multiple of looks across the national circuit. Fountain will bring his heavy barrel to Milwaukee for the inaugural PBR High School All-American Game next month.

Following the Area Code Games, PBR's VP of Scouting Shooter Hunt had this to say about Fountain: "One of the most imposing bats in the lineup for the White Sox, and flashed his clear plus raw power early with a no-doubt home run in their first game of the week. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound slugger stays well-balanced throughout his swing with impressive bat speed and barrel accuracy that allows the LSU commit to do loud damage to all fields. Fountain worked a walk in every game played, and really showed the damage he can do with a team-leading seven RBIs with just two hits. Flashed a present above-average arm across the diamond with accuracy. Everything about Fountain is physical."
