COLLEGE STATION, TX- The South Texas Underclass Games is a premier event for PBR Texas, with its purpose on being a key event for identifying the state’s top underclass prospects. Today our staff takes a look back at some of the top prospects in attendance. Each of the players below showcased high-level tools on developing frames with plenty of promise for the future

ANTHONY SILVA

SS / 3B / CLARK, TX / 2022

Committed to TCU shortly after the Future Games. Silva was the youngster on the Team Texas roster, but he showed out as one of the big guns to keep a very close eye on. A plus-plus defender, Silva showed quick reactions, speed into approach, exceptionally clean glovework, and put up 88 mph across the diamond. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has a very high ceiling at the plate, showed line drive power around the field from a simple set up on the right side and projects to develop more power. 91 mph exit velocity.

MAX SOLIZ

C / 3B / BOB JONES , AL / 2021

Arkansas commit.  6-foot-4, 205-pound, SHH shows serious power potential w/ a lot of frame development.  Tall, athletic frame w/ some present strength, super projectable.  Projects to be a monster in 4 years.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, narrow, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into crouch, big stride and low hand load.  Generates premium bat speed through the zone w/ natural loft.  Scary bat speed when frame matures.  Learning to control body in swing but shows advanced control of his long-limbed frame through the zone.  Present power w/ projectable all fields power.  Chance to be a really special bat.  Projectable below average runner.  Defensively, takes some time to get into position and ends up setting up with his body right down the middle.  Can present a target for his pitchers to throw to, ideally just under the knee of hitters.  Shows tools to receive w/ strong hands, some ideas of how to pitch frame.  Learning how to box the baseball and keep his chest up to keep it in front of him.  As a thrower, shows solid release w/ projectable carry to target arm strength.  Developing footwork, but tools to be an average catcher.

MAX BELYEU

OF / RHP / ALEDO, TX / 2022

Alabama Recruit. Belyeu was picturesque at the plate in his BP round, getting good lift on his left-handed swing with pull side juice and made it look easy. Not many moving parts in his set up, efficient to the ball, and the power will play. 86 mph exit velocity shows more power to come. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder exudes athleticism and projection, as shown in his 6.86 60-yard dash.

TYSON NEIGHBORS

RHP / OF / COMMUNITY , TX / 2021

Committed to Kansas State shortly after the Future Games. A stout 6-foot, 205-pounds, Neighbors brings a cut-throat aggression to the mound, bearing down on hitters with power pitches and pounding the zone. His fastball, which releases from an over the top slot, worked at 88-90 mph. The command was slightly scattered, but he controlled the pitches around the zone and was highly effective. Neighbors slider was a heavy biting slider at 83 mph that showed considerable depth. Neighbors is also highly academic, sporting a 4.57 GPA in the classroom.

TRENTON CHENARD

RHP / OF / WEIMAR, TX / 2021

Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 170-pounds, long loose arm, throws from a low ¾ slot that works with him striding slightly across his body and creating some deception with the glove side as well. Fastball came in at 86-87 mph on the day with some sink and arm side run when it is right. Throws a change up with good arm speed at 77 mph as well as a cutter at 83 that is more side to side and small action. Chenard has enough funk in the delivery with a quality sinker to pitch at the next level
