Throughout Wednesday, July 26-Saturday, July 30, 2023 Prep Baseball Report Future Games were held in Emerson, Georgia at our LakePoint Sports Complex. For this event the various PBR staffs from around the country selected the best uncommitted rising juniors and sophomores to form teams to represent their state or region in the event, bringing well over 450 of the best uncommitted players in the United States and Canada to one four field quad for 4 days.

For this event, players from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and DC were selected to form Team Mid-Atlantic. Players on Team Mid-Atlantic had a position player showcase workout on Wednesday and then played in three games, one per day, Thursday-Saturday, going 1-1-1 against Team Florida, Team Carolinas, and Team California. Scouts from all 30 MLB teams and well over 350 college coaches were in attendance.

Burton's Analysis

Kyle Flora OF / 2B / Landstown, VA / 2025

This one continues to grow on me. Slightly undersized, doesn’t have loud tools, but always seems to produce. 5-foot-10, 165-pound narrow frame. Flora has continued to produce sub 6.8 60’s, with his best coming at the 5-Star Scout Day where he ran a laser timed 6.62. He has the footspeed to stay in center and is probably best suited for left/center. The hit tool is pretty solid. Bat to ball, doesn’t swing and miss much, and just has a knack for being on barrel. Lower leg lift and hangs in his lift, but stays over his back side and doesn’t tend to drift into his stride. Compact swing with solid extension through contact and has shown some adjustability in the swing. In BP Flora had some of the best average batted ball distance for Team Mid-Atlantic. While it isn’t a high exit velo, raw power type of profile, he consistently barrels line drives and doubles in both gaps and is not afraid to use the whole field. Had a double to deep left field in game two, as well as an RBI single in game one.
