Today we are releasing our fifth update to the Virginia/DC Power 25. We have four new teams moving into the rankings, as well as two new faces inside the Top 10.

St. Johns remains in the top spot and are coming off of one of the most dominant seasons in recent memory. One hiccup on the resume with the loss to Paul VI in the WCAC game two semifinal, but otherwise unscathed. The Cadets won the WCAC Championship in convincing fashion, sweeping Gonzaga in the finals.

The next five teams remain in the same spots, but with regional and state playoffs looming, there are lots of potential shakeups in the next two weeks.

We do have four new teams moving into the rankings this week and we would like to highlight two of those teams.

Mechanicsville moves into the #19 spot after a nearly flawless last seven weeks of the season. The Mustangs have won thirteen straight, including wins over cross town rivals Hanover and Atlee, as well as an early season win over #9 Douglas Freeman.

Hickory moves into the #22 slot in the Power 25 after a rough start to the season. After the Hawks started 3-7, they have reeled off ten straight wins, including their most recent 2-1 victory over #22 Grassfield.

See the complete Power 25 below.
