Midwest Future Games Spotlight: Mitch Vogrin

Vogrin emerged in the spring as one of the top power arms in Illinois’ Class of 2014. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound right-hander will put his abilities on full display August 4-5 at the Midwest Future Games at the University of Illinois for Team Illinois.
In the spring, Vogrin helped Minooka to a fourth-place finish in Class 4A. He pitched 36 innings on varsity without yielding an earned run. He finished with a 5-1 record and struck out 40 batters. Vogrin made a big splash at the Class 4A state tournament when his fastball sat at 87-89 mph with late life. He also showed feel for a 74-75 curveball.
The Midwest Future Games, powered by Under Armour, will feature the best Class of 2014 prospects from six states.
