2019 Jud Fabian Stands out as a Two-Way Player at FL Underclass Games

The Florida Underclass games featured plenty of talent from all the classes (2017-2019), but it almost seemed as if the talent got deeper as the players got younger. All three classes were represented by multiple players who will sign with division I schools, but there is a good chance that the 2019 class from this particular event will end up having the most college players.

Jud Fabian, a 2019 OF/LHP from Trinity Catholic, will almost certainly be one of those players to eventually play at the next level. The incoming freshman stands at 5-foot-9, 145 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable frame. He is a switch hitter who possesses a loose, flat swing and good hitter’s hands. Fabian hits consistent hard line drives to all fields with plus bat speed for his age. In the outfield he takes very good routes and comes through ball well. He shows a loose, high ¾ arm action with above average to plus arm strength for his age. Jud threw 81 mph from the outfield and produced an 81 mph exit bat velocity. He also throws off the mound with three solid pitches. His fastball sits in the mid 70’s and gets up to 77 mph, his curveball is 61-62 mph, and his changeup is 68-71 mph.

Making a varsity team as a freshman depends on the coach, depth of the team, and talent of that particular player. For Jud Fabian, the talent is there and he will only continue to get better. I obviously can’t say if Jud will make varsity as a freshman for sure, but I can say that he already has the talent and tools to play for the vast majority of varsity teams across the state as both an outfielder and a pitcher.
