Game Notes: Shadow Ridge at Arbor View

Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

The Shadow Ridge vs. Arbor View matchup featured a number of talented prospects, both committed and Uncommmitted, that came to play with a back and forth matchup that ultimately ended up in a tie. A tight game through 3, the Mustangs broke it open in the 4th with a 5 runs coming across with help of timely hitting from 2026 Houston commit, Evan Noble, as well as one of Nevada's top Uncommitted 2024's and West Coast Games standout, Brock Morrow. The Aggies answered with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning with back-to-back-to-back hits from Uncommitted 2024 - Michael Castillo, Uncommitted 2025 - Landon Blais, and 2025 Long Beach State commit - Jase DeSantis. Runs continued to trickle in back and forth which called for both team's top arms to take the mound with in LSU commit, Colt Christman, for Arbor View and one of Nevada's Top Uncommitted 2024 arms, Dylan Franco. The arms ultimately shut down the offensive threats with the game resulting in a tie after each guy rolls through 3.0 innings pitched.

+ Colt Christman, 2027 LHP/OF (LSU Commit) - The future Tiger had himself a massive day on both sides of the ball with a pair of hits and three RBI's at the plate while rolling through three scoreless innings on the mound to hold a stout Shadow Ridge lineup at bay. His fastball velocity continues to climb, running it up to a Prep Baseball Verified 91 mph, hitting it multiple times during his outing with an improved breaking ball to go with it that he seemed to be able to locate more confidently and consistently than earlier in the Spring. With the two-way player craze in full effect, Nevada's #2 ranked 2027 is shaping up to be a prospect that could potentially do both at the next level with high level tools already present in his game.

+ Landon Blais, 2025 OF/LHP - The L/L two-way has ascended to one of the top Uncommitted prospects in Nevada's 2025 Class with his hit tool on full display yesterday, going 3 for 5 with three runs and two RBI's to help the Aggies put up 8 runs. Blais has continued to produce quality at-bats this Spring, consistently coming through with clutch hits and gritty at-bats as a catalyst at the top of the Arbor View order. Keep this prospect on your radar as on that could be a player to make an early impact at the next level and one that we project to be off the board in the near future.

+ Evan Noble, 2026 OF/IF (Houston Commit) - Nobles tooks some of the best swings in yesterday's matchup, one of which was a key two-RBI double to left-centerfield that continued a 5-run inning for Shadow, eventually scoring himself on a single by Uncommitted Senior, Brock Morrow. The 5-foot-9 prospect packs a massive punch with a Prep Baseball Verified 98.2 mph Exit Velocity as well as one of the top defensive arms with a Prep Baseball Verified 89 mph Infield Velocity. Noble has had multiple weeks of being submitted for the Player of the Week honors, and if he continues to swing it like yesterday, we expect him to be getting the nod here in the near future.

+ Dylan Franco, 2024 RHP - The Uncommitted right-hander seems to be catching his stride during his senior campaign with present arm talent to go along with improved command of his two pitch mix that features a fastball and slider, both of which are thrown at high effort. His fastball continues to be his go to pithing, hitting multiple 92's with arm side life while his slider showed flashes of advanced action, especially when thrown to his glove side. Franco is a prospect who seems to just be scratching the surface of what he has to come, relying heavily on his athleticism with pitchability still something that could be unlocked to help make his low 90's fastball and even more effective pitch.
