Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 6

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 6 (March 25-March 30).
MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Timothy Haynes 3B / RHP / Lubbock Cooper, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 263 / POS: 17
The Midland College recruit was on fire this past week for the Pirates. In eight at bats, he had four extra base hits, including two homeruns. He drove in six and reached on a free pass four times. Haynes is a big bat in the middle of the order for Lubbock Cooper and he gets in the box ready to do damage. We saw him easrlier this year at the Prep Baseball Invitational, and he is always a threat for extra bases.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Kade Davis LHP / OF / Cedar Park, TX / 2024Rankings StateRank: 128 / POS: 17
Davis earns POTW honors for the second week in a row, this time for his performance on the bump. He was perfect in five innings with twelve strikeouts. The southpaw contiinues to have a monster senior season on both sides of the ball as he also added another two homeruns this past week.
