Mizuno Pitcher of the Week: Week 6

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year, we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season and for the high school coaches who nominated their players for this award.
Continuing from last year, we will also be highlighting other players from across the state in our Alabama Diamond Notes that we will release each Wednesday. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Hudson Marks 1B / RHP / Athens, AL / 2026Rankings StateRank: 66 / POS: 5
Marks has primarly been known for his efforts at the plate ever since being inserted into the Golden Eagles' lineup as a freshman, but it was the right-handed arm that really made an impact this spring. Down in the Gulf Shores, AL area this past week, the sophomore was very efficient in his lone start and fired a complete-game shutout. On the mound, the right-hander went 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, & 9 K on 79 pitches. He was super-efficient and pounded the zone with strikes. A talented two-way prospect in the 2026 class in Alabama who is worth following for the next few years. |
