Here is a look inside the recruitment of Gage McCutcheon.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?  (Example:  high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.).

McCutcheon: I am looking for a school where I can become a better player and where academics is important to the coaches.  I am leaning towards majoring in engineering, but I’m really wide open about it.

PBR: How did you do your sophomore year?  What were your high school statistics?  And how did your team do?  Name some players that will play a key role for your team in 2016.

McCutcheon: Our team started out real well last year and then hit a wall the second half of the season.  The team had a lot of seniors and playing time wasn’t what I’d hoped for.  I played real well defensively and will get more chances at the plate next year.  Key players next year will be Austin Weiler, Kurt Paldino, Daulton East and Jack Hiller.

PBR: What are your goals for your senior season?

McCutcheon: I’m working to gain strength and increase my speed during the offseason. My goals are to win conference and get to state for the school year.

PBR: What travel team do you play for?  Are you playing fall ball with a team?

McCutcheon: I play for the KC Barnstormers, including this fall.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

McCutcheon: No, I’ve only played baseball for the last couple of years.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

McCutcheon: I scored a 28 on the ACT and my GPA is 3.3.
