Uncommitted JUCO Spotlight: Ruendrick Piternella

As the JUCO season starts to wind down, we'll be highlighting several players from across the state's junior college programs that impressed at our scout days this fall and are having strong seasons for their respective clubs.

Today we'll highlight OF/1B Ruendrick Piternella, who's an uncommitted sophomore bat at Mineral Area JC. In 131 at-bats this season, the 6-foot-2, 274-pound slugger is slashing .328/.489/.542 with six home runs, 10 doubles, and 38 RBIs. He's drawn 11 more walks (41) than strikeouts (30) and he's chipped in four stolen bases to the Cardinals' offense, too.

We saw flashes of the power in BP that Piternella possesses at our Mineral Area Scout Day this past fall. His hardest barrel checked in at 99.9 mph on our TrackMan, averaging 92.4 mph per batted ball. Piternella also generated some of the highest Blast Motion metrics we saw in the fall, something that certainly matches up when you watch him swing.
