Braedon Norman, RHP, Vandalia Butler, Class of 2019

PBR: Why did you choose Wright State?

Norman: I feel Wright State gives me the best opportunity to pursue baseball beyond college and a good education.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Norman: I had another offer from West Virginia but I was also interested in UK and Louisville.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you and how did you did your relationship build with them?

Norman: The coaching staff first saw me in Mason at a scrimmage last spring. They came to a few more games in the spring and summer season, and we continued to talk off and on.

PBR: Coach Mercer was promoted to Head Coach this summer.  How does it feel to be a part of his first recruiting class?

Norman: I feel honored to be the first commit from the 2019 class.

PBR: Wright State is close to home, how much of a role did distance play in your decision?

Norman: It really didn't play a role for me. I just really liked the coaching staff. My family is excited they will be able to see most of my games.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Norman: It feels great. I'm excited to continue to play at a high level.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Norman: I play for the Cincinnati Spikes in Mason, Ohio. My most memorable experience really wasn't from this past summer but from last summer. I got to pitch against the Elite Squad Prime who was a top ten team in the country. The atmosphere was electric. It was probably one of the most exciting games I've ever pitched in.

PBR:  What person has the great impact on your baseball career and why?

Norman: My dad has made the biggest impact in my baseball career. He has always driven me to wherever I need to be, played catch with me whenever I asked and always encouraged me to be the best I can be.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have face?

Norman: The toughest hitter I have ever faced was Triston Casas, a University of Miami commit from Florida on Elite Squad Prime in 2015.
